We care about personal privacy and protect your information as if it were our own. This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use document is intended to disclose how we treat your personal information and to show you all the ways we work to keep it safe while we educate the public about our agenda.
Personal Information
We do not share the information you've given us with anyone other than the people who need to use it to operate our organization without your explicit permission.
With your explicit permission, we may share some of your personal information with the following affiliated groups:
- The local affiliate Child Care Resource and Referral Agency in your community. These agencies may provide you will very specific information from your community.
- Affiliated Third Parties - for example, our database administrators and staff members - for the sole purpose of helping us do our work. These groups do not share your personal information or use it for any purpose other than as instructed by us.
- Third Party Administrators, such as organizations we engage to facilitate large distribution of messages or process donations. These third parties do not have direct access to your personally identifiable information.
- Elected officials legislators, news publications and other targets when you choose to use our email tool to send them messages. or you sign petitions.
- Carefully selected partners, sponsors, or other entities who share our concern for children and child care. We will only share your information with these partners with your explicit permission.
This privacy policy may be modified from time to time. This privacy policy was last posted on November 13, 2008.
Petitions
For petitions and surveys you've signed or completed, we treat your name, city, state, and comments as public information - for example, we may provide compilations of petitions, with your comments, to the President and legislators, other targets, or to the press.
We will not make your street address publicly available, but we may transmit it to members of Congress and to the President as part of a petition. This is a standard industry practice in such situations.
In no such case will we disclose your email address or phone number, without your permission. We may also make your comments, along with your first name, city and state available to the press and public online.
Sending Emails Via Child Care Aware Parent Network
Our Action Center will enable you to send individual e-mails to the President, legislators, and other targets as well as Letters-to-the-Editor to various news publications. These messages are sent in your name, with your e-mail address as the return address and your full name and contact information is provided as part of the submission. These messages will only be sent out under your name as you approve them on an individual basis using our email tool. You are solely responsible for the specific message(s) you send using our email tool.
Tell-A-Friend & Email this Page Services
If you elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about our Site, we ask you for your friend's name and email address. Our system will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the Site. Your friend will only receive the e-mail you elect to send unless he or she requests further communications from us. Your friend may contact us to request the removal of this information from our database.
Surveys
We may conduct occasional online surveys via our website or via an email newsletter. These surveys are entirely voluntary and you may easily decline to participate. Participating in an online survey does not automatically add your name to our subscriber or membership lists. We may use the aggregate data collected to improve our services and/or publish reports.
Other Websites
Our Site contains links to other websites. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which Child Care Aware Parent Network has no responsibility. Financial Donations
If you choose to make a donation to Child Care Aware Parent Network, your credit card information will be used only for this transaction through our secure online payment system. Child Care Aware Parent Network and NACCRRA do not retain credit card information or transmit credit card information to candidate committees.
Children
Child Care Aware Parent Network does not solicit personally identifying information from children. Visitors who are under 13 years of age should ask their parent or legal guardian for assistance when using the Site and should not submit any personally identifying information to the Site. For example, visitors under 13 years of age should not make donations or use the Child Care Aware Parent Network email tool.
Cookies
Parts of this Site are password-protected. We use cookies (cookies reside on your computer and are under the control of your browser) to enable you to return to password-protected areas of the website without having to re-enter your password.
